Set in the cool hill country of Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka's highest town, this private cottage was designed as a weekend and holiday retreat for a Colombo-based family seeking a complete contrast to city life. IMARK RENDER developed an architecture of rough-sawn local timber, stone plinths and deep overhanging pitched roofs — a building that belongs to the mist-covered landscape rather than sitting above it.
